not so ghetto

well i just got done ordering new parts for the new single speed apollo

so i got a single speed conversion kit with a chain tensioner
this is going to make it less ghetto than the cog
why... cuz then i dont have to cut the chain so that i can bairly pull it in a non horzontal drop out frame

did that go over your head???

well i can explain but im not going to haha

anyways, i also got a set of quick rolling cycle cross tires, why, cuz then i can ride this really where ever i want, over grass, snow, dirt roads, pavement
and im not going to worry about sliding out!

and what else did i get.... hum...... idont remember
but i think that was it
and over night shipping, yeah its going to be ready for friday
im going to take her out when i go to conn for a day ride
and oh yeah ride her like she was stolen

why hello there in single speed land
squid here

so i started a new project
another single speed

i decided to trun my 10 speed nice old road bike into a single speed
why??

cuz single speeds rock and they are fun
remember
cars are coffins!

anyways

couple delemas

should i out slicks or cyclecross tires on her
and what size cog should i use in the front
huge or moderate

should i make it a fixed gear... naw
anyways she is looken good so far
will post pics soon

decided not to go clipless on this
going with toe clips insted so i can ride with regualr shoes
keepen the crank bros on the ghetto

this single speed is going to be as less ghetto as pissable
there is still a spacer on the outise of the frame witch is still alittle ghetto
and the drop outs for the rear are not horizontal
so still a little ghetto but still
not like the ghetto cog that is just scary unless you saw how i work on her

so anyways
looken light and fast
and easy to manage

thinking of doing a race on her this summer just to be a moron
cuz really who races a single speed in a triathalon
man i would love that
